About
Grimelid is at the very mouth of the Førdefjord, a beautiful outpost with delightful views of the ocean and islands to the north and south-west. This was originally the site of copper mining from 1759 to 1920, with the mines operational at different periods and with different owners and managers. At peak, the mines provided the grounds for settlement in the area for around 160 persons.
